Why is my female rabbit's urine muddy, losing weight, not eating?

With the discharge from her nose I would suspect that she has some sort of respiratory issue going on. Rabbits are very prone to pasteurella infection and this can cause weight loss over time and make them generally unwell. With any disease rabbits will be under stress which puts them at risk of gut stasis. Running bloods could help to establish if their is an active infection and if any other organs are involved.

A sterile urine sample should be collected and submitted for urinalysis and culture. This will diagnose urinary tract infection, identify the responsible organism and determine the best antibiotic to use in treatment. Check the teeth for malocclusion or overgrowth. It is of critical importance to get Lilly eating again. Supportive care (subcutaneous fluids, force feeding, etc) should be continued. Always have timothy hay or similar grasses available. An abdominal x-rays should be considered to diagnose foreign body, large hair balls or tumors in the abdomen. A hairball paste may aid in passage of any hairballs. If you don't have experience force feeding, have your veterinarian show you how. If available, Oxbow Critical Care is an excellent formula to feed sick or injured rabbits.

Hi, Weight loss is common as animals get older, but it’s generally the result of an underlying issue like arthritis, decreased activity, or even diseases like kidney failure, liver disease, or cancer. So while it’s not unexpected to see weight loss in an 8 year old rabbit, I would be worried that Wally may have some degree of arthritis or a disease called Encephalitozoon cuniculi (EC). Both arthritis and EC can cause rabbits to urinate outside the litter box and weight loss. However, the treatment for each of these are very different and they carry different prognoses. There can also be pain associated, and therefore I recommend you take Wally to a veterinarian for an exam, blood work and radiographs (X-ray). Wally may hate leaving the house, but he will likely feel much better once he has some pain control or any other treatments that may be necessary. Good luck!

These signs might be compatible with a urinary tract infection/inflammation. These signs must be checked as soon as possible as urinary tract infection can be dangerous in rabbits as can lead to stress and degenerate to more systemic signs. It definitely sounds like something serious is going on with Bun Bun. If his appetite is still good and his stools are normal but he is losing weight I would be concerned with either intestinal parasites or cancer causing him to get a lack of nutrients. This would explain the hairloss as well. I would recommend taking Bun Bun to your veterinarian to be examined. Your vetnwill most likely want to run some blood work and possibly do X-rays as well. It sounds like they could have a parasite or an infection causing the problem. It is very concerning that they both lost weight rapidly and one died. It would be best to have her examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. Your vet can run some lab-work, if needed, and prescribe medications to treat. She may need some fluids for dehydration, antibiotics, de-wormer, etc. Besides trying to get her to eat and drink, there isn't much more you can do without veterinary care. Hope she gets better soon!
