My pregnant guinea pig's babies aren't all moving. Is one lost?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Other | Unknown - Other | Female | unspayed

My female guinea pig is pregnant. At least 8 weeks as we can feel the babies move. She has at least one on each side today I seen one move through her but can't feel te other side move any more. Does this mean she lost the baby? Or just lack of moving

I would not read too much into this as babies go through phases of moving more and less, and it is hard to see depending on position and fluid. You need to be really careful feeling Rosey's babies, her uterus is very delicate and can be easily damaged.

The baby is likely absolutely fine and I wouldn't stress Rosey out trying to feel it. There would be nothing you could do if it had passed away, so it's best to keep Rosey comfortable.
