Hi, This could either be coming from her digestive system (i.e. diarrhea ) or from reproductive system (uterus and vagina). This needs to be diagnosed correctly. One option is that she has a pyometra (infection of the uterus). In this case she would need surgery same as done with larger animals. In any case, you need to take her to the vet ASAP. Regards

I can see that Kiwi has what appears to be a dilated anus. This can be associated with a rectal prolapse, when a portion of the rectum everts to the outside. Parasites, high fiber diets, and increased abdominal pressure can cause this. I recommend having Kiwi seen by a vet as soon as possible, as this condition is likely uncomfortable for Kiwi. Hamsters are induced ovulators and are constantly in heat, therefore estrogen. High sustained levels of estrogen can lead to uterine neoplasia. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Most likely, she needs to be spayed. This presentation could be due to a trauma, a mass or a localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria or mites). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical) are needed to solve the problem.
