My hamster is suddenly lethargic and won't get up. Is it serious?

Hamster is extremely lethargic and won’t get up. No symptoms before tonight. Normal diet and exercise

Hamsters that become extremely lethargic unfortunately rarely survive, it could be a bloat or a gastrointestinal infection, it could also be due to a tumor, it's hard to say, you need to take him to the vet urgently.

    I wouldn’t be too concerned as long as he isn’t eating and drinking normally and still willing to play. If he seems overly lethargic I would have your vet take a look at him. Your vet will be able to ensure he is healthy and nothing is going. I hope this helps!
