Hamster fell, dragging legs, not eating or drinking. What's wrong?

Poor chip. It is hard to say what is causing the abnormal activity with out examining him. I would recommend taking him to a vet for a good exam to determine if he has a fracture or soft tissue injury. The vet can provide pain control which will keep him more comfortable. hope that helps

Hopefully he will be fine. However, limping could indicate a leg injury. Lethargy and decreased appetite could indicate internal damage/ or bleeding. Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. Hello, A fall could cause a traumatic brain injury, a spinal injury, bone fractures, or internal bleeding. If Casper has returned to normal activity levels and is eating well, he is likely fine. If Casper becomes lethargic or disinterested in food, it may be a sign of illness or pain that he needs to be seen by a vet. I hope this helps. This is a medical emergency and he had to see a vet now. He could have broken his leg, and he’s likely in terrible pain. Leaving him like this would be cruel. There won’t be a free place, veterinary medicine costs money as it is a business. I would see if you could borrow money family and friends to afford a vet, and I can give you some resources that may help. You can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. I am so sorry to hear that tour Syrian hamster is not well. It sounds like he is possibly in pain and may have an infection. Unfortunately with prey animal species like hamsters, they do not tend to show signs of being unwell until they are actually very sick. They tend to hide signs their body is not well longer, then other species. For this reason I would advise taking your hamster to your veterinarian. It is very likely they will be able to provide medication, such as antibiotics to try to help him recover. The vet will also be able to provide medication for pain relief and healing.
