I cut my hamster while grooming. Does he need stitches or vet care?

I recommend bringing him to your veterinarian to have him examined, have the wounds cleaned, and he can be given medication for pain and antibiotics. Any bite wound has the potential to become grossly infected and abscessed, which is very painful and can require surgery to resolve. In the meantime, you can try gently wiping any discharge away from the wounds with a damp cloth. I hope this is helpful!

Many topical antibiotics can also be detrimental if groomed and ingested. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess the eye and other wound care. Good luck.

It could be Glacier injured himself in his cage. I would gently clean his wound with warm water and antiseptic soap. Keep the wound clean and dry, and monitor it for signs of infection. If you see redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, or pus, then it is infected and he will need to see the vet for antibiotics to treat it.

Providing water through a syringe if Smores is not drinking, can provide well needed hydration until an appointment can be made with a veterinarian. A bite or scratch wound will often need to be treated with systemic antibiotics. Good luck.

Your vet should be able to trim Cookie's teeth. Some hamsters need this done routinely (every 2-3 months) but you may be able to prevent it from happening again by giving him plenty of things to chew on. Hamsters incisors grow continuously which is why they need to be worn down or trimmed regularly. Your vet may also recommend starting so antibiotics since there is an open wound. Best of luck.

Ouch, poor Kola! He does need to see a vet, but the good news is that this may be able to treated and you don't need to put him home. Of course I can't say this for certain without seeing him in person, but infections can typically be treated successfully. I'd make an appointment for him with the vet to have this infection treated.
