Hello. Other than to make sure your GP is perfectly healthy, has no intestinal parasites, normal dentition, no ear, eye & skin problems, then no you do not have to bring your pig to the vet. There are no vaccinations necessary. But if he has never been seen, I would recommend doing so. Then, the only time you may need to have him seen is if he loses weight, develops diarrhea, develops any sores, lesions or hair loss. Most guinea Pigs if fed & housed properly, will never need routine veterinary care. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
