My rabbit isn't eating. How to force feed a rabbit that won't eat?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed | 5 months and 21 days old

My rabbit is a female. The vet told us to feed her pellet and water mixed in a syringe every 30 mins. Although she isn't eating and she is just sitting in the corner of the cage it has been around 20 hours she hasn't eaten anything except one pellet and water mixture yesterday and the pain relief. Please help?!!!!

Hi there. You are going to have to force feed her with a syringe. I suggest you look at some of these YouTube videos to see how to do this:

I don't know if you can get this in your country but here we use Oxbow Critical Care to force feed rabbits.

You can also use human baby foods (fruit and vegetable flavors).

You will have to force feed her until she will eat on her own.

Hope this helps. Best wishes.
