My female ferret is anemic. Is iron safe, or is it a hormonal issue?

can I give my female ferret an iron injection or orally, for anemia. She has been in season for a couple of months seperated from the males

Depending upon the underlying cause of the anemia, supplements may be used. Hormone therapy is also an option in an intact female.
Ideally, Sassy should be physically examined by your veterinarian before any treatment is administered. If she isn't to be used for breeding, she should be spayed once she is stable.
