My new hamster is scared after a fall. How can I calm her down?

It sounds as though she was still in shock. I would recommend to give her some time to relax and recover from the stressful situation. After some time has gone by check in her again and see if she’s better

Luckily, they usually are not much worse for the wear, as long as they don't hit anything on the way down. If Rosie is walking around and acting normally (eating and drinking, not limping or squeaking), she's probably fine. If anything changes, a vet visit is in order. He may be stressed from the car ride and changing locations again. I would put his cage in a quiet room to allow him to calm down, and monitor him. I think you need to give him more time to calm down. One day is not enough. If he is very stressed it is best to cover the cage for a few days and bother him as minimally as possible. It sounds like you are doing a great job with Bear so far. Continue interacting with her like you are as often as possible because this will help you gain her trust. If you want to try and hold her, try placing your hand open in her enclosure (palm up) with a small treat inside. Allow her to slowly come to you and walk into the palm of your hand. After she does this a few times then you can gently close your hand and lift her out of the enclosure. The first few times you hold her only do it for a short period of time so she doesn’t become to stressed. I hope this helps. Best of luck. No, I would not be overly worried. He may just be tired from stress. Just keep an eye on him and if he isn't better in 24 hours you should take him to a vet for an exam. He may be coming down with an illness; very common, especially if purchased at a pet store.
