Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | unneutered

Hi my bunny escaped earlier this morning when I was asleep, I found him in the kitchen just sat there. When my dad and I came into the living room we noticed a tangerine had be half eaten not in segments, it looked like it was bitten. There was also chocolates on the table with the tangerines and I'm really worried if he will be okay?

Eating/biting/tasting a tangerine is not harmful to rabbits. I would not be worried about this at all.

As for the chocolate, if it was a small piece of chocolate, no harm will come to your rabbit. But if your rabbit was to eat a large amount of chocolate, that is a very serious situation that means an emergency visit to the veterinarian’s office.

Hope this answers your question. Best wishes.
