My baby bunny is seizing and dying. Can I save it? What should I do?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It sounds like Mocha might be having seizures. This can occur due to many different causes including infections, inflammation, tumors, and other causes. If Mocha is eating, drinking, pooping and peeing normally right now, you can monitor Mocha for now. I would recommend however to have Mocha seen by a rabbit veterinarian as soon as you are able to get an appointment. I would also recommend trying to get one of these episodes on tape if you can, so if you see it happening try to record it. Best of luck with Mocha.

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Twitching in bunnies is usually either due to pain, or can be due to seizures, or severe metabolic disturbances. I recommend that you take Bun Bun to a vet. It doesn't sound like something simple that can be easily fixed at home. One option is to get "Critical Care" food, and feed this with a syringe, however this won't help with pain, toxins, or seizures. Best of luck with Bun Bun.

It sounds as if this bunny has a very serious injury and is in critical condition. I would recommend taking it to a veterinarian as soon as possible so it can get appropriate treatment. This does not sound like an injury you can treat at home. Even if you are not able to afford its care I’m sure any vet’s office would be willing to see if they can help it if you are willing to relinquish it. I hope this helps. It could have many different disease processes, however I am worried that your bunny might be dying. Please bring it to a vet right away for treatment/care, or humane euthanasia. I'm very sorry for your loss, unfortunately these are general signs of a dying agonal rabbit but this does not give me any clues regarding the possible cause of death. if it happened to more than one rabbit though it's very likely to be infectious and you need to bring the rest to your vet in order to be checked and treated if needed.

Hi there, and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It's hard to tell from the pictures, but this little bun may have some cranial swelling going on. Hydrocaphalus, or swelling of the head, is not entirely uncommon in neonatal rabbits and can be life threatening. I strongly recommend getting this little bunny to a certified wildlife rehabilitator or a veterinarian as soon as possible, especially if she's shaking and is only able to lay on one side. This could be indicative of neurologic issues. In the meantime, keep her warm and quiet, and continue to feed her regularly. Good luck, and I hope that Loppy does well!
