My turtle has a red spot and soft shell. What can I do at home?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

I was washing Cooper' s shell when I noticed there a tiny red spot on her shell. When I press it on and disappears but when I lift my fingers the red spot comes back again. Also Cooper's soft shell is now gotten a little more worse and I don't have the money to go a vet. What can I do to help him. Please help me.I'm sorry the photos are a little blurry but I took them the best I can.Again I don't really have the money to go to the vet so what can I do to help her at home??

Yes, the images are blurry. The best you can do is monitor the spot for rapid change or growth.
Maintain water quality and environmental parameters. Provide a well balanced diet along with vitamin and mineral supplementation.
Unfortunately, without a physical exam, there is not much more to be done that you aren't doing already.
