Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Amphibian | Salamander | Female | unspayed

I have a tiger salamander with a infection. I do not know if it is bacteriL or fungul, but I know how to treat it as it has happened before. but how warm should the water be for my salamanders medecine bath be? also, how do you feed a salamanderr thet is almost starved? both the stores I get food from were out of stock so one of my 2 salamanders died, and the still living one won't eat. also, my surviving salamander has a lump on his chin that has not been there before. thanks in advance.

Thanks for reaching out about your salamander. The water temperature for the bath should match the habitat water temperature as changed in temperature are very stressful. Bacterial and fungal treatments are different so a diagnosis will help. As for food, you will have to contact the vendor directly. It is very difficult to syringe feed salamanders. You should consider a veterinary visit as this sounds serious.
Good luck.
