How to nurse my new leopard gecko back to health if it's thin?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Gecko | 42 lbs

I got a new leopard gecko, it looks very anorexic and it walks funny. If I feed it the right way, I gave it a calcium powder, water, it’s food. Can I nurse it back to health? Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is likely that you will be able to help him. However, I would recommend you consider taking him to your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment first. They can at least assess the situation and recommend therapy accordingly which you may then continue at home. Best of luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
