My Indian Star Tortoise has a broken mouth and isn't eating. What now?

It definitely looks like she has an upper respiratory infection. She needs to be put on the appropriate medication by a veterinarian ASAP. Usually an antibiotic (I like Baytril for reptiles) and possibly an antifungal as well. Take her to see a vet ASAP.

Hello, I’m sorry to hear of Babu’s injury. I am worried he may have sustained trauma to his face or jaw or even possibly internally. A jaw fracture would certainly make him not want to eat. I would recommend you have him seen by a veterinarian as he may need pin medication, antibiotics or even treatment of the wound or fracture, if present. Good photo. Thanks for providing one. It looks like his lower beak has a fracture. I wouldn't necessarily be worried but I do think you should do some treatment to keep it from getting infected. If you get some Betadine solution and dilute it to a weak, light brown color you can use a cotton tipped applicator to wipe inside the defect 2-3 times per day. If it looks worse at any time he may need to have a filler put in the defect. ( https://www.agradi.com/betadine-solution.htm )

It can be if it interferes with the ability to eat. Have him examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles. The vet may be able to trim the beak to a manageable length that will not inhibit eating. Review your tort's diet with the vet to confirm adequate nutrition and vitamin/mineral supplementation.

I would recommend having their mouths trimmed as soon as possible by a skilled exotic veterinarian. Leaving the mouth untrimmed can lead to problems eating and the misalignment can become even more severe as it grows out.

Unfortunately for this type of injury there is no home treatment you can do. Hopefully the jaw will just heal on it's own. You just need to make sure he is eating and if not, you may need to force feed some Critical Care diet like this one: ( https://emeraid.com/emeraid-carnivore/ ) Be sure his "normal" diet is 100% correct and that you are using supplements. I find it hard to believe a toad would break it's jaw with no trauma so I would be worried about a nutritional deficiency.
