My iguana keeps getting rectal prolapse and I was wondering what could be causing it. Her blood work is normal, X-ray is normal, and no parasites. Her humidity is good and we give her a bath about once a week. She goes through periods where she doesn’t eat and then start eating again. Her vet thinks her nerves might not be working properly and they want to do surgery to shorten her colon. She just prolapsed again and she already has stitches on either side. She does this every few weeks.
