Can I feed my bearded dragon shrimp to help him eat veggies?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Hello! I have a bearded dragon, who hates veggies and fruits. I have a mix of dried veggies with calcium and dried bugs, at the pet store, I got a can of shrimp that's for reptiles and turtles, is this safe to feed one shrimp on top of his salad to entice him a bit? Thanks

Yes, you can do this but it should not be the main part of this diet so use it sparingly. There is a "salad dressing" you can get for beardies that may entice him to eat that would probably work better.

I suggest you refer to this article about how to train your beardie to eat veggies.
