My baby bearded dragon looks bloated. Is it growth, gas, or concern?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Bearded Dragon | Male | unneutered

Is my baby bearded dragon overweight or just growing? He has a balanced diet but recently his middle area looks bloated slightly. His behavior hasn't changed, he is still active and moves around a lot.

Thanks for reaching out about Lucas and including photos. He does not appear overweight in the pictures. If feels gassy, try a 5-10 minute warm water soak to stimulate defecation. If watery, loose or malodorous, consider a fecal examination for parasites, through a veterinary clinic.
Good luck.
