My gold fish is orange and it has multiple tiny white balls growing on two different parts of my fish. What can it be? How will this effect the other fish? Is it contagious?

Sounds like ich AKA White spot disease. It is a highly contagious, communicable disease that can and will spread to other fish in the aquarium. If you go to your local aquarium supply shop, they will have several products specifically designed to combat this disease. It will also be recommended to do some changes to your tank environment. You will definitely need to do a water change, over the course of the next 3-5 days. Hope this makes sense.
