Why won't my fish eat bloodworms? Are they picky or need preparation?

Garlic can be used to treat some parasitic infestations, and not sure if this is a parasitic problem. Calcium deficiencies can lead to oral boney problems, resulting in inability to swallow food. Iodine deficiencies can lead to thyroid enlargement, also making swallowing difficult. Try the different food first. They may be stressed from the trip, the water may be too cold (low temps can affect appetite in fish) or the water chemistry may be off. Consider a partial water change. Use only conditioned water that is temperature matched to prevent further stress or shock. The fish food is fine. They will likely eat it once conditions are corrected and they settle down.

Reptiles will often not eat because of other illnesses such as intestinal parasites or infections, kidney disease, dental disease, etc. A veterinary visit is recommended to help. On the photo, Perceval appears thin. Offering a Gerber's baby food (chicken, beef etc) might provide some nutrition until the primary cause is determined. Good luck.

They may have inflamed gills, gills that flicker at an increased rate, bleeding on its body or rotting around its fins or gills.
