Why is my unvaccinated dog not eating, vomiting, and running a fever?

As long as your dog has all his vaccines and they are kept up to date, he won't get deadly diseases such as parvo, distemper, or rabies from your mother's dog. There could be another reason why your dog isn't eating or drinking, and has thrown up. He could have a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or could have pancreatitis among other causes. Given that he has drank water and if it's stayed down, I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Tigger might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer him boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.

Poor puppy. That looks like digested food that he vomited up. He may have eaten something that he shouldn't have. Therefore I would try to fast him for 12 hours and then offer him small amounts of boiled chicken and plain rice. If he is still vomiting, lethargic, or has lack of appetite and diarrhea, then I would be concerned he may have either intestinal parasites or has contracted the deadly parvovirus. It is best to have him seen by your local veterinarian if he is not getting better. Hopefully he just got into something he shouldn't have and will show improvement within the next 12 to 24 hours. It sounds as your pet is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet urgently, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. . if the vet thinks it is more serious he will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

I am sorry to hear he is not feeling well. I would highly encourage you to have a follow up appointment with your veterinarian as soon as possible. Young puppies need nutrition and will Parrish quickly without it. Viral infections such as parvovirus can cause fever and inappetance as well as many other possibilities. Poor guy. It sounds like he may be experiencing a severe vaccin reaction. We treat these with a steroid shot and antihistamine shot. You will need to take him to your vet for treatment for this. B/c of the severity of his condition it is unlikely anything over the counter will help him recover. He also should be tested for parvovirus since he is so young and this is likely his first vaccination. You can try force feeding him some boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese and 1-2 tsp of honey or karo syrup to keep his blood sugar up, until you can get him seen.
