It is natural for dogs to want to sleep near their people. It's also pretty common for a puppy Kimi's age to wake up at least once overnight. If you want to keep her on the first floor I would recommend crate training her and if she cries overnight, letting her out to eliminate and then putting her back in the crate immediately. She may cry for a few nights but should get used to it relatively quickly. You could also try letting her sleep upstairs in a crate - she might be happier near her family and sleep better, but she might also cry just as much.
