Hi, I have a St. Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix that is about 11 months old. He started chewing up the bathroom wall and cabinets as well as other household things when we're gone. He has toys and has our other dog to play with as well, but still chews. Any advice is welcome!

It sounds like he may be having some separation anxiety. You could try a calming collar like sentry. You can also try some calming essential oils. DoTerra oils have oils that are safe for pets. Finally, if you aren't having any improvement, I would talk to your vet about starting him on an anti-anxiety medicine like fluoxetine. You can also talk to a trainer for ways to help improve the anxiety and prevent him from having to be on medicine long term. I hope this helps!
