How to stop my dog from biting other dogs when I pick them up?

Most dogs feel uncomfortable when off the ground. This can lead to nipping or biting. The easiest solution is to not pick him up. If you must pick him up or have others pick him up, gradually acclimate him to this. Be sure to support his entire body and hold him for ever increasing periods of time. Praise and reward him as he progresses. If he wiggles or nips, put him down and wait until he settles down before trying again but don't force him.

If your dog enjoys being carried by you then any time she bites you while in your arms put her down immediately and ignore her. Doing this will help her understand that by biting you she is not getting what she wants, which is being held. It is also helpful to use positive reinforcement like by giving her treats or being extra affectionate towards her when she is being held and not biting. Hope this helps! Good luck.

Frito is really cute!!! I recommend having your vet check to make sure that he doesn’t have enlarged anal glands which could be causing some discomfort/even pain back there. If he doesn’t have any anal gland issues, you can try restraining him in a thick towel before wiping his butt if he needs it to avoid getting bitten. Good luck!

Lucy is still very young and while I can't completely judge definitively the behavior you are describing without seeing it first hand, it doesn't sound like abnormal puppy behavior. Lucy is currently in a very important part of her emotional / social development so you may see lots of behaviors over the next 2-3 months that seem new or out of the ordinary, as she continues to find her role in this new world. If the biting to you really seems like an aggressive sort of action, I would recommend speaking with a trainer or behaviorist in person so they can make their own determination as how to move forward. In the mean time, any biting (or teething) that you see should be redirected to a toy. Do not touch Lucy or says something to Lucy when she bites, as this could be misinterpreted to her as attention. Thank you for posting more information. It sounds like Tiny needs some tough love. First, I do not recommend using commands like "No" or "Stop" because dogs don't understand those commands. What we need to do is to ignore behaviors that we don't want and to teach them behaviors that we want them to do instead. If Tiny is reacting to petting and carrying him around, I would first recommend having your veterinarian examine him to make sure that there isn't anything physical that is painful for him. If everything is normal physically, then I would recommend starting a training program. Make sure you use a positive reinforcement training program. What that means is that you only reward positive behaviors. It sounds like Tiny may be a handful to train, so I would strongly recommend working with a trainer. In the meantime, I would recommend ignoring any behavior that you do not want. So, if you go to pet Tiny and he tries to bite you, you should walk away and try again later. I also strongly recommend working with a reputable dog trainer in your area who uses positive reinforcement techniques to make sure Osito is not accidentally getting mixed signals that are making him think that biting is ok. Taking Osito to a puppy class to help his burn off some excess energy and learn how to play appropriately is also very important, as is regular exercise that can provide an outlet for his energy.

It's very common for dogs to growl and even bite in response to having something taken away. Instead of chasing Pilot and forcibly trying to take the sock out of his mouth, I would recommend calling him to you for a special treat - something like a piece of cheese or chicken, that he doesn't usually get. Most dogs will happily drop whatever they are holding and come to you for the treat. While you're giving the treat, someone else can go and pick up the sock. Alternatively, if you're by yourself, you can get his attention and then toss the treat away from where he's standing so that he has to go and get it - then pick up the sock while he's busy doing this.
