The mass looks to me like a sialocoele - a cyst that fills up with saliva. However, given Nashville'a history of SCC, I strongly recommend that the mass be biopsies to determine what it is. Your veterinarian may choose to perform a fine needle aspirated or a biopsy depending on how the mass looks and feels.

It is possible this could be a cyst. Cysts can decrease in size, especially if the vet used a needle to aspirate fluid from the cyst. They do not, however, usually go away completely and will often fill back up. In some cases, these cysts will rupture and can cause pain or result in infection, so the best course if it seems to be causing problems is to remove it surgically.

It's possible that Kinta's cyst has burst internally and drained there. That can happen and it's not dangerous. As you can see, cysts can and do refill again, and the only way to stop that from happening is to have the cyst sac removed surgically. These are quite common in older pets. Most of these sebaceous gland tumors/cysts are benign (non-cancerous); however, they can grow and cause pets irritation, which can lead to ulcerations and infection. The cyst is likely what we call a fluid filled cyst. It is a benign sac of fluid. The fluid is produced by the cells lining the sac, so even when we drain the fluid, those cells will create more fluid and the cyst will refill. They can grow slowly over time, but generally they will stay fairly small. If Bella is under anesthesia for another reason (such as a dental cleaning), you may discuss having the cyst surgically removed with your veterinarian.
