Senior dog peeing, drinking, panting, and struggling with stairs?

Blaiser sounds quite ill! There are a couple of things going on with him at the moment. This excessive drinking and urination could be caused by diabetes, kidney failure, Cushing's disease, a UTI, or bladder stones. The large bumps could be due to cysts, lipomas, abscesses, benign tumors, or malignant tumors. The panting more could be due to cardiac disease or metastasis from a malignant tumor. Blaiser has to see a vet as soon as possible, and today would be best. He needs a physical exam, blood tests, urinalysis, fine needle aspirate of the bumps, and chest x-rays. These tests will diagnose what is causing his symptoms, and the vet can discuss treatment options with you. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I would have Molly seen by a vet as soon as possible. It sounds like she has a few things going on at the moment that need to be diagnosed and treated medically . The problems using her back legs could be due to arthritis, or problems with her hips, spine, and/or joints. Drinking a lot more and peeing a lot more can be due to diabetes or kidney disease. That would also cause weight loss. The bad breath could be caused by diabetes and dental disease. Finally, peeing her in sleep could be caused by incontinence. She needs a physical exam, geriatric blood panel, and urinalysis to diagnose what is causing all of her symptoms. Once a cause is found, the vet can discuss treatment options with you.

I would recommend having your dog seen as soon as possible if her symptoms are not improving tomorrow, even if this means taking her in to another vet or an emergency vet. Diseases we worry about with these symptoms include Cushings Disease (where the adrenal glands produce too much steroids), diabetes, kidney disease and liver disease. Some of these conditions can worsen quickly and become life threatening so having her examined and having bloodwork and urinalysis done as soon as possible to determine the underlying cause is the safest way to proceed.

He is an old dog, and this panting can be a sign of congestive heart failure, which can be common in senior dogs. It can also be a sign of a hormonal disorder such as hypothyroidism or Cushing's disease. Finally, it could also be due to cancer in his lungs, either primary or secondary tumors. I wouldn't say this is an emergency, but he does need to see a vet for it. I recommend having a geriatric blood panel, urinalysis, and chest x-rays done. These tests will help the vet diagnose what is causing his panting, and then can discuss treatment options with you. I would take Piru into the vet first thing Monday morning.

Poor guy and sorry to hear about your mom passing. The weight loss was good for him and his health: however, his symptoms of increased drinking, urination and loose stool with accidents in the home are suggestive of possible diabetes or a urinary tract infection. His behavioral changes indicate he doesn’t feel well. I would highly recommend taking him to your vet for bloodwork and a urinalysis to check things over.
