My old dog drinks and pees too much. Is it diabetes or kidneys?

It could be that her insulin needs adjusting, and the diabetes is causing her to drink more and then pee in her bed. It could also be she has another medical issue, such as kidney disease, causing her to drink more and urinated in her bed. I would recommend taking her into the vet first thing in the morning for a geriatric blood panel and urinalysis to see what is causing her to drink, eat, and pee more.

The most common diseases that cause dogs to drink and urinate more are urinary tract infections, kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, cushings disease, and addisons disease. You will need to take her into a vet today for a blood test and urinalysis to see if one of those conditions is causing her symptoms. Once the cause is found, the vet can discuss treatment options. If she is drinking or urinating more than usual, she should be seen by your veterinarian. Given her age, blood work should be done to assess major organ function, especially kidney function. Dogs can have kidney disease but show no symptoms until kidney function is greatly reduced. If diagnosed early, it may be managed.

I would have your veterinarian evaluate Daphane's urine in case she has another urinary tract infection (UTI). That can cause an increase in water intake, urgency to urinate and burning while urinating or leaking urine. It would also be a good idea to check some bloodwork.
