Why is my senior dog having painful, slow, difficult urination?

Oh my. If she is straining to go urinate then yes this could definitely be a blockage caused by either a urinary stone or even a bladder mass is possible considering your pets age. I would recommend taking her in to your vet right away if this is the case so that she can get testing (urinalysis +/- abdominal rads) and treatment I hope that Jenna is able to make a full and speedy recovery soon! Antibiotics typically improve UTI signs within 1-2 days so Bakka could have something else like a stone in his urinary tract or even an issue like a prostate gland infection or rarely cancer. As the antibiotics are not working and a stone could cause him to be unable to urinate and have kidney damage, Bakka should be seen by a veterinarian.

Tiger will need to be seen by your veterinarian for an exam. The vet will need to do a urinalysis to determine whether there is a bacterial infection, or crystals or bladder stones. He may also be incontinent due to losing sphincter tonus. As he is an old dog, there is always a possibility of a tumor or prostate problem. There is no one medication for all of that, so please take Tiger to your pet doctor for an exam and treatment if indicated.

Poor Snic! Frequent urination with blood at the end of the urine stream could be caused by a few different things - even if she doesn't act painful, this is definitely not normal. The most common causes of these symptoms in an older female dog like Snic would include a bacterial UTI, bladder stones, or even a bladder tumor of some kind. I would recommend taking Snic to the vet for an exam as soon as you are able to - he/she can do a urinalysis and may also recommend x-rays or ultrasound of her bladder to help diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment.

It is hard to look at x-rays through the PetCoach system, but I do not see any bladder stones. There does appear to be some gas in the bladder, which may have been inadvertently introduced through catheterization or could indicate the presence of a gas-producing bacteria. The prostate is significantly enlarged, to the point where it could constrict the urethra and cause straining to urinate. The urinalysis shows a possible infection, which could come from the bladder or prostate. I would not start urinary alkalizers without the certainty of oxalate stones. I would have Nawaab seen by a vet, it may be a bladder problem or a prostate problem. I recommend having blood work, a urinalysis, and prostate exam to start with to try to figure out what is going on. I'd have him seen by a vet today.
