Why does my senior dog have mucus in his stool? Is it worms?

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered | 12 years and 4 months old | 9.3 lbs

Is it good to deworm my senior pet.? He’s been liking but hS stopped now. Mucus is in stool. I do not see worms
