My senior dog has a growing neck lump. Is surgery the right choice?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund miniature | Male | neutered | 16 lbs

My 13 yr old has had on both sides of neck ( salivary ducts) blocked .( vet thinks) he did needle biopsy & came back inclusive he said. Right bump under neck getting a lot bigger. I took him to vet & he was not concerned. My dog acts fine, eats & seems fine. My vet said may need surgery to remove but I read the swelling can come back & I don’t want put my dog through major surgery at age 13. He had a teeth cleaning & bloodwork came back fine vet said . So I am ata standstill with what to do?

I highly recommend removal especially since the salivary gland is that large. I would have a consult with a boarded surgeon and see their opinion but I would not hesitate removing it in Spike. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
