My senior dog has diarrhea & vomiting. Is Petco Wellness enough?

I'm sorry Heinz isn't feeling well. My first step would be a through physical exam, which is very important in deciding what to do next. I would next recommend some combination of blood work, abdominal x-xays, symptomatic care, or even hospitalization if Heinz was ill enough. I would probably not worry about the dental disease at this point, but if he looks pretty healthy, would discuss doing the dental within a month or two since we already have the blood work run today. Diarrhea can be caused by gastrointestinal infection, food indiscretion, pancreatitis and more. Offer Leon bland food for a few days (cooked lean meat with rice or pasta) and get him a probiotic for dogs (for example FortiFlora by Purina). However, if after a few days he is not any better, you should take him to your local vets for an appointment. Also, monitor the amount of water he drinks. He should be given free access to water but if you notice that he is consistently drinking more than usual, he should have a blood test to check his kidneys function. It sounds like Buffy is very sick, since she can't keep down water and is also having diarrhea, and is unwilling to move around. I highly recommend that Buffy be seen by a veterinarian. As a 15 year old dog, I am worried about a possible cancerous cause of her clinical signs. Diagnostics such as bloodwork and even an abdominal ultrasound would likely be necessary to determine the underlying cause. At the very least, your veterinarian can discuss possible palliative treatment options to try to get Buffy feeling comfortable again. It is also not wrong to consider the option of humane euthanasia, to help eliminate Buffy from suffering. I know this is a difficult choice, but from what you are describing I don't believe it would be wrong. I hope this is helpful.

Due to her age I'm concerned with Lexie not feeling well with diarrhea and vomiting. She has gastroenteritis, perhaps from eating things in the yard, but regardless of the cause she will get worse if she becomes dehydrated. I recommend a veterinary exam soon so they can start treatment and run blood work and perhaps a fecal to determine the cause. That way then can be sure to use the right medication to get her better. Yes it would be best to have her seen. Decreased appetite and lethargy are very common symptoms of many diseases, many of which may be treatable. The best way to know what is going on (diagnosis), how serious it is, and how to help her feel better is to have her seen. Given Boomer's older age and the acute onset of the vomiting/diarrhea, I would have him seen sooner rather than later by a veterinarian. Boomer could just have an upset stomach, but he also could have a foreign body, an infection or even a tumor causing these signs. Your vet will perform a full physical exam and determine if any additional diagnostic testing is needed (bloodwork, xrays ) and what treatments he made need. Good luck!

Vomiting and diarrhea can be caused by many conditions primarily gastrointestinal in nature such gastroenteritis and gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction or other conditions such as pancreatitis or kidney disease. I recommend that you have your pup evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include abdominal imaging and general bloodwork.
