Is it safe to trim my 5-year-old dog's nails for the first time?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | 5 years and 4 months old | 60 lbs

I have a Labrador he is five years old now .... Bt till now we haven't cut off his nails ever .. so can we cut it now ? Some said it ll give him pain as he never cut his nails before ! So what my question is that can we cut his nails or not ?

Nails can be clipped at any age, but you need to know how to do it in order for it not to cause damage or being painful, i strongly recommend that a professional (vet, vet nurse or groomer) shows you how to do it the first time.
