Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 7 days old

When we brought Mayor here in our apartment, he left some fleas which is biting us now. I wanted to get rid of these. Do you have any reccomendations which is safe for us since it is in our bed. Also, are those fipronil based spray safe for us wheb sprayed here in our bedroom? Thanks! :)

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would recommend getting Mayor on a flea prevention from a veterinarian. These are given every 30 days and need to be used for at least 3 months. You must also treat all the pets in the home. The fipronil products are safe to use at home- just follow the instructions on the packaging. The most important treatment is treating Mayor monthly with a product from his vet. He is the source of the fleas. Kisses to Mayor!
