My puppy has white or gray hair around its mouth. Is it normal?

The hair around the mouth and lips is usually not as dense as on other parts of the body, but it looks patchy, sparse, or if the skin looks irritated or different in some way, then I would get her checked by the vet. If you've recently changed bowls that she east or drinks from, she could be allergic to them, especially if they're plastic.

Yes, she does appear to be going grey! Although pictures can be deceiving i do not see any areas of inflammation or depigmentation (pink spots) which can be an indication of skin issues but more a widespread lightening/greying

It is likely not a problem that his face is turning white. If he is losing hair or has scabs on his face though this can be a sign of a disease. Some dogs will experience graying at an early age. This is common on the face and muzzle but can be seen on the legs and abdomen as well. If this is been an abrupt change or if it is accompanied by any changes in the skin such as crusting or redness, I would recommend an examination with your veterinarian as it could indicate an infection, mange or autoimmune issue. If it is just white or gray hair that is occurring gradually over time, it is likely just a genetic predisposition particular to your dog.

It looks like depigmentation. It is nothing to worry about and also nothing you can do about. It may stay like this, it may progress and more skin on Hazel's chin will become pink rather than dark/black.
