My puppy is throwing up, not eating, and lethargic. Is it serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | 4 months and 16 days old

My puppy has been throwing up since yesterday (after she threw up all the food she started throwing up liquid like saliva) , would not eat anything and barely drinks, not energetic at all

Julia should be examined by your veterinarian today. Vomiting and a lack of appetite in a puppy can quickly lead to dehydration which can kill. If she is not vaccinated, diseases such as distemper should be ruled out. At the very least, she may need supportive care (IV or subcutaneous fluids, anti emetics and parenteral nutrtion) until she is eating on her own and not vomting any longer.

Yes, I think you should have her seen today by a Vet. She is just a little baby and we worry about dehydration and low blood sugar. Plus puppy's thing young can deteriorate quickly. Bring a stool sample if you can and all paper work you were given regarding medications, vaccines and deworming.

Possible causes are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections (parvo is a concern), dietary indiscretion, food allergy/intolerance, toxin ingestion, reaction to a medication.

Since there are no other symptoms right now, watching her for tonight is a reasonable option. If you do notice any vomiting or diarrhea then take her or if the lethargy and deceased appetite continue tomorrow then I would bring her to the vet for a parvo test and some blood work. With her being that little, she can get weak if not eating due to a decrease in blood sugar, so be sure to monitor her attitude and activity.

Unfortunately, this is not normal behavior for a young puppy and is pretty concerning. At less than two months old, your puppy needs to eat regularly or he risks having low blood sugar, which can cause serious health problems. This could be a number of things - parasites, a bacterial or viral GI infection, or even an intestinal blockage. At 2.5 months of age, Gus is especially at risk for parvovirus, a serious GI infection. We always worry about fluid loss in young puppies, so I would recommend getting him to a vet ASAP, to diagnose the cause of the vomiting, and start appropriate therapy.

Vomiting, lethargy, not drinking and a loss of appetite are quite concerning signs, particularly in a puppy since younger animals are more susceptible to the affects of dehydration than adult dogs. Polly may have a significant gastrointestinal virus, a foreign body intestinal obstruction, parvovirus (unlikely if she was fully vaccinated), among others. At this point, the best thing you can do is take Polly to her vet for an exam and diagnostic testing to get to the bottom of the situation. Polly may need to be hospitalized for IV fluids, or even require surgery if she has a foreign body intestinal obstruction. I hope that all goes well!

I'm really sorry that Wylie is not feeling well. At this stage I really think you need to get him to a vet for an exam and treatment. There is only so much you can do at home - obviously he is not responding and is actually worse after 3 days. The best advice is to get him to a vet as soon as possible. In a young dogs (like less than a year old) that are vomiting, not eating, lethargic is often due to an intestinal obstruction; I would be very worried about that. Please get him to a vet ASAP.
