Puppy has swollen eyes, itching, and ear scabs. What should I do?

The pictures are kind of blurry but I can tell there is some redness. The swelling is difficult to appreciate. It does seem like an allergic reaction to something, but what.....I cannot say. Since she is acting otherwise normally you can try to give her some over the counter antihistamine medication - you can use diphenhydramine (Benadryl). Poor Levi.....his eyelid is really swollen! Since the bumps just appear they could be hives from some type of allergic reaction. Since his eyelid so so swollen and red, it would be a good idea to have him examined by a vet for treatment. An anti-histamine and corticosteroid may be needed to help. Hope he gets better soon!

It is best to get him to a vet. This sounds like an allergic reaction that can progress to worse symptoms where he has trouble breathing which can be serious. In the meantime you can give him one Benadryl capsule or tablet (25mg) to see if that helps.

Poor Rollo! A sudden onset of swelling and itching certainly sounds like an allergic reaction. Some allergic reactions do not respond to antihistamines alone and require corticosteroids. At this point, your best bet is to take Rollo to the vet (or an emergency vet if your local vet is closed) for evaluation and they will be able to prescribe steroids, if indicated. You can also try bathing Rollo in a gentle oatmeal-based dog shampoo or gentle baby shampoo in case he is having an allergic reaction to something in the environment other than a bug bite. If the Benadryl was effective, I would have expected to see a reduction in the swelling by now. Sometimes allergic reactions require stronger drugs to treat such a steroids, and it sounds like this may be the cause for Moose. Because the swelling hasn't reduced and the reaction appears to be progressing, it's time to see a vet immediately. Please take him into an ER vet clinic if your regular vet is closed; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. It looks as if Simba is having an allergic reaction to something. If you are unable to get Simba to a vet for treatment you can try to give him some benedryl, at a dose of 1mg/pound. This may help decrease the swelling and help stop the reaction. If Simba begins to have trouble breathing, starts vomiting or having diarrhea, this means that the allergic reaction is more severe and he will need to be seen by a vet immediately.
