My puppy luma has a large bump on his stomach right above his private area. What is this bump? Is it serious. He doesnt seem to be in pain or anything. He eats and drinks regularly.

Hello. It does appear that Ace has a small umbilical hernia. Your veterinarian can examine him in person to discuss if surgery is necessary or recommended. Yes, this looks like a small umbilical hernia. They are fairly common and are generally closed up when the animal is spayed or neutered. Usually it’s nothing to be overly concerned about, but certainly should be repaired at some point. If it gets larger then I’m more concerned and you should have it examined and get your veterinarian’s recommendation. This could be an umbilical hernia, the location would suggest that, umbilical hernias are common, it's basically a hole in the abdominal wall that requires surgical repair at some point, it is usually not urgent though.
