My new puppy has sticky saliva and acts sick. What should I do?

Nausea and diarrhea can occur secondary to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Lily evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least they can start her on medications to make her feel better and check her hydration status. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. You need to find an animal charity to help you, Karuppu is extremely sick and this is not something that can be treated with home remedies. You need to get her into a vet now or find someone who can take her into a vet or she could die. Best of luck.

Oh no. I would take him to a vet as soon as possible and have him checked for intestinal parasites and parvovirus. Either one could be the cause of his bloody discharge and need to be identified quickly so that he can start treatment right away. Howver, you can offer Pedialyte non-flavored to help keep him from getting too dehydrated. It is unfortunate that a pet you just adopted is ill; however, you can't help Shiner on your own and you should allow your veterinarian to care for him and his illness from here moving forward. Hi there. It sounds like your dog has a gastrointestinal infection which can be caused by bacteria, intolerance to something he ate, parasites or a virus. With the loose stool and continued drooling, I would recommend that you take him to a vet. They can do a physical exam and a fecal test and once they know what’s going on they can get him the treatment he needs to feel better. Vomiting and diarrhea can cause dehydration so seeing your vet soon would be best. I hope that helps and thanks for using Pet Coach.

You have done a good thing in taking this little guy in. I think no matter what he needs to go to a vet for a check up. His eyes or his ears etc could be causing him to sway his head. Also with his eyes being gunky and his sight effected he needs to get checked asap. You might be able to find a charity clinic to treat him as he is stray.

I am concerned that your puppy is quite sick. There are a number of things that can cause this, but the first things I am concerned about are 1) infection, 2) hypoglycemia and 3)parasites. I would want to ensure that she is not septic which can cause secondary hypoglycemia. It would be best if he was seen by a veterinarian.
