Is it normal for a 6-month-old puppy to be shy? Will she grow?

It may have been a voice of someone, how tall someone was, etc. that scared her. I would recommend socialization classes with a dog trainer and see if this helps. A lot of times, puppies will grow out of this fear as they become more socialized at dog parks and in training classes. I hope this helps! 1) how much should a puppy walk at almost 6 mo? I would take SIe on at least two walks a day. Getting her used to the leash is a good thing. You can do two 15 minute walks or even 3. The walks are great because it will get her energy out. 2) is Natures Recipe Puppy okay for her she loves it read a good brand Natures Recipe puppy is perfectly fine for her to eat. 3) how many people should she see a day she is a bit shy getting over it fairly quickly? Should she be greeted or just passing by counts? It is always a good idea to have people great her. Make sure they get down to her level and greet her. Having them offer her a treat or toy is also a good idea. You can always work with a trainer to help. 4) Should I spay her before or after 6 months? I recommend spaying her at 6 months. Socialization and more socialization! The more that Lucky is exposed to in a positive manner, with treats and praise, the more courageous he will become. You will want to start slow and increase the amount of time for socialization periods so that it is not overwhelming. Behavior training would be a great way to help her gain confidence. You can look into puppy socialization and obedience classes in your area. I'd also recommend asking any strangers to allow her to approach them, and to offer a treat. I would encourage you to contact a dog trainer that can work with you and her in person to really take care of this behavior. She is a cutie. She likely is just a smaller framed GSD. Her weight looks appropriate for the breed here. You are feeding her a high quality food so you are doing what is needed to keep her weight ideal, which it is. As long as her stools are not soft, then there isn't much else to do about her smaller frame. It is just her genetics. It sounds like she is a timid dog. Take her to see more pets/people in smaller sessions. Take her to the dog park and to the pet store so that she is exposed to more people/pets. Also I would suggest enrolling her in doggy daycare so that she can learn how to be around other pets without being so timid and fearful. She will come around the more you expose her now while she is still a puppy and can be trained out of her fear. Though it is not normal behavior for the average puppy, it may be completely understandable for Alaia, depending on where she came from. If she is from a pet shop, puppy mil, or other abusive situation, it will take her itme to trust you. Always let her make the first move for the time bieng. Feed her from your hand so she begins to associate good things with you (you don'thave to do her whole meal that way!). You seem to be able to judge very well when she will be receptive to you (when she's sleepy, for example), so go by those parameters in your interactions with her. Do not expose her to anything potentially traumatic of possible (like a dog park or a visit with your relatives).
