My puppy's parents are siblings. Will it have future health issues?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 5 lbs

I recently had two brother and sister dogs accidentally get locked up together... I have bottle fed the puppy and she now had her eyes open and most all of her teeth...She seems to be okay besides a problem hearing..Do you think she would have any health problems in the future?

I would not expect any health issues from this in-breeding. The crazy stuff in the movies would only be expected after many generations of in-breeding. However, if both parents have health issues, then the puppy may also develop those health issues much like a puppy born to unrelated parents with the same health issues.
