My puppy overate, vomiting & diarrhea for days. Is it an emergency?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 24 days old | 30 lbs

My puppy got into our other dogs food and ate it all on top of her puppy food. She has had an upset stomach for two days now, vomiting every few hours and mild diarrhea. She has had her parvo shots, and there is no blood with either end. Should this be an emergency?

It is not an emergency in this precise moment unless Lucy is lethargic and uncomfortable. I would recommend that she is checked over first thing in the morning or as soon as your vet is open as she will benefit with some medications that promote gut motility and some pain relief, as well as symptomatical treatment for the diarrhoea. She could also start to be dehydrated, so I would really suggest for her to be checked over.
