My 5-month-old Shih Poo puppy won't eat. Can I mix dog food flavors?

The best dry diets are often the less palatable ones as well, in very picky dogs this can of course becomes a challenge and a problem. You may want to try Royal canin, it's not the best but it is still a good quality food, it is also very tasty for most dogs.

Possibilities include: 1) A bad tooth or other mouth problem 2) An organ dysfunction, disease, or infection that affects appetite 3) She has you well trained. I recommend seeing your vet to help rule out medical causes. If nothing is found, it could simply be that she has you well trained and knows that if she waits long enough, you’ll put something good in her bowl. My advice for that is to wait her out. Don’t give in and within 3 days, every healthy dog I know has eaten plain kibbles. Of course if Luna is a healthy weight and you don’t mind pampering her, that’s fine too, so long as she does get some dog food (it has all the minerals and vitamins we need her to get). If he stopped eating it just because he doesn't like it then you can a new brand of food and see if that improves his appetite. I really like Royal Canin and Eukanuba brand foods. Both have great puppy diets. I don't know if he is a large or small breed puppy so get him the appropriate sized puppy food. Some dogs are just picky and you have to change the food around a few times before you find one that sticks. If he stopped eating because he has no appetite then he needs to see the vet for an exam. Several brands of food including Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin, and Purina One are often preferred. These companies do a lot of research and quality control to ensure their foods meet strict nutritional standards so I would recommend one of these brands for Sixx. Otherwise, there are certain brands in the market that are highly palatable such as Purina Pro Plan shredded blends. You can try adding chicken broth to his food. You can try those things but if nothing seems to work, he should be re-evaluated by a veterinarian to ensure that there is not a medical issue going on with him. Good luck and have a great day!

I would choose a puppy formula in small bite size for Kylie. Make sure to mix her old food in with the new food over a couple of days so you don’t upset her tummy.
