My puppy isn't eating, drinking, peeing, and scratching. What's wrong?

I am so sorry to hear about your puppy! With these symptoms I would recommend finding a vet in the area to examine her. I would be concerned she could have a urinary tract infection or be suffering from constipation. If you have any canned pumpkin you can give her a teaspoon or two added to her food to try to help if it is constipation, but it sounds like she needs to see the vet for an exam!

Hi, I think Lola is not 100% if she is refusing to eat and just wanting to sit on your lap. I would recommend that you have her checked over as puppies are quite delicate and need to be eating regularly. She could have parasites or just a little temperature for example, it could be something quite simple but obviously that could cause her to feel poorly. Have her seen by your vet so that she can get any necessary treatment. Hope she gets better soon !

Poor girl. Unfortunately her symptoms are very non-specific towards one disease process or another. They are very vague indeed. It sounds like she is having decreased appetite and lethargy. I would have her examined by your vet to gather more clues about her condition. Her vitals need to be checked and she may need additional testing like a fecal exam or bloodwork to get to the underlying problem. She could have a number of things going on including an infection or a congenital defect. I do hope that your puppy is going to be ok moving forward. Best of luck and take care.

Not eating or more than just a day is definitely concerning, particularly if this is highly unusual and she's turning away things like chicken. I would be concerned about some sort of infectious or inflammatory process going on, a primary or secondary gastrointestinal issue, or one of her organ systems (liver or kidney) acting up in some fashion. If she also isn't taking anything to drink, I would definitely be worrying about dehydration setting in. If she hasn't taken anything for you by the morning, get her into the veterinarian for a check up. Unless they are able to make a determination which is obvious based on physical exam, they will want to likely run some diagnostic blood work and perhaps imaging. Hope this makes sense.

She is a large breed growing puppy so they often go through spurts of sleepiness where they may not eat as much of their food. With that said, this should then be followed by a spurt of activeness and engorging in her food, within a 24 hr period. If she is lethargic and not eating well for more than a day, then she may have an infection and should be checked out by your vet asap. Pets also don't often pee on themselves, even at this age. This concerns me for a possible urinary tract infection, which causes her to have an inflamed bladder, which then causes her to not be able to pee in a designated area. At almost 3 months of age though, she may still be potty training. At any rate, it is best to get her seen with such vague symptoms, just to make sure she doesn't have an infection and to get her treated right away if there is one present. I would recommend having your dog seen as soon as possible if her symptoms are not improving tomorrow, even if this means taking her in to another vet or an emergency vet. Diseases we worry about with these symptoms include Cushings Disease (where the adrenal glands produce too much steroids), diabetes, kidney disease and liver disease. Some of these conditions can worsen quickly and become life threatening so having her examined and having bloodwork and urinalysis done as soon as possible to determine the underlying cause is the safest way to proceed.

This is not specific to any disease, but indicates that something is either directly upsetting her stomach, or generally making her feel nauseous. It's good that she is drinking though. In order to discover the cause of this problem you will need to take Christmas to a veterinarian for an evaluation. They can help narrow-down the cause of this and provide treatment to at-least make her feel better. However, it's possible that this may be a temporary condition, so if she's otherwise acting normal, then it's fine to wait a day and see if she gets better. If she goes longer than 24 hours without eating, then it would be best to take her to the vet.
