My 4-month puppy lost a canine tooth. Will it grow back? Vet?

Usually the puppy teeth will not come out until the adult teeth are pushing through. At this point you can continue to monitor the area. Watch for any signs of infection in the tissue like redness or discharge. Most adult canines will start growing in between 5.5 - 6 months of age. if they are not grown in by 8 months of age or if you see any evidence of infection, have him examined by the veterinarian. I think this looks like a baby canine tooth, which would normally be falling out around this age. Usually the adult tooth is already partially growing in, so if you truly feel like this may have been an adult tooth you may want your vet to take a look.

Given her age, that's her baby canine. Playing with a sock wouldn't be enough to tear out an adult canine. As long as the gum looks clean and isn't continuing to bleed after a few minutes, she will be fine. She's at the right age to be shedding her baby canines and her adult ones should be coming through soon.

This can be a common issue in young dogs, especially of small breeds. If the canine tooth doesn't fall out by the time the adult tooth has grown in, we normally recommend removal of this tooth at the pet's spay or neuter. The tooth can be a site that easily gets infected or is easily broken, and this is the reason we recommend removal,though we do see dogs who live with the baby tooth and don't have problems with them. They are also an area where tartar quickly accumulates as they age.

It is a bit difficult to tell from the picture but the tooth to which you are referring appears to be a baby tooth. If this is the case, it should fall out and an adult tooth should take its place. Also difficult to tell without an in person oral examination, but it appears that based on the picture and the age you have provided for Dexter, that there are retained baby teeth that should already have fallen out. If Dexter is truly unneutered and this is a procedure you plan on having done at some point, having those baby teeth manually pulled while under anesthesia will likely be in his best interest to avoid any significant dental problems while continuing to grow. Canine (fang) teeth usually erupt between 5-6 months of age. Since Daisy is not quite 5 months old yet, the chance of her having a fully erupted adult canine tooth is quite slim. The tooth in the picture looks much more like a baby tooth than an impressively large adult canine tooth in a dog her size. With that said, I'd still recommend having your vet perform a full oral exam on Daisy during her next visit. They may also recommend taking dental x-rays to be sure that the full tooth root came out, as retained roots can be problematic. Odds are good that her tooth was already just a little bit loose and this rough playing just sped up the process. It's always better to be safe than sorry!

Typically the adult teeth will starting coming around 5.5-6 months of age. If Z broke the puppy teeth, then they will fall out soon and he should be fine.
