Why is my 8-week puppy lethargic after first shots but still eating?

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | 9 lbs

My puppy not moving around as much he is eating he dont have diarhea and not throwing up. What can be wrong with him he had his frist set shots and he is eight weeks old

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. If Kane just recently had his first series of vaccinations, this could be an explanation as to why he is not moving around as much. If he is still eating and fine otherwise, I would keep an eye on him for another 24 hours. If he does not perk up or he worsens, then I would recommend having a veterinarian examine him so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! I would recommend calling your veterinarian tonight and letting them know that Wolfie is not feeling great. I am concerned that Pepper is not drinking water and could become dehydrated. For this reason, I recommend you have Pepper evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Is it normal for a puppy to be tired and not eat after vaccines?

Boots is so cute!!! He's had a pretty stressful day with going to the vet, getting an exam, and getting vaccines. You can see the kitten being very tired and not eating as much after all of this. He should be back to normal within 24 hours, so I wound't be too concerned just yet. If he is still super tired and not eating much 24 hours after the vaccines, then I would be concerned and have him seen by a vet immediately. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Is my puppy's sleepiness normal after vaccinations, or should I worry?

Puppy's getting sleepy after their shots is a normal reaction to vaccinations. They can also have a low grade fever and/or one bout of vomiting/diarrhea normally that are no cause for concern. The concern arises when your pet is severely lethargic, not eating, non-responsive, pale gums, or excessive vomiting/diarrhea. If you notice any of these symptoms then it is best to take puppy to a vet asap for immediate care, because a mores serious vaccine reaction is occurring at that point.
