Should my 2-month-old puppy take glucosamine for hip health?

Pet's info: Dog | Neapolitan Mastiff | Male | unneutered

I have a Neapolitan mastiff and he is 2 months old. Should I start supplementing Glucosamine/Chondroitin to prevent hip displecia in his old age ? Will this be appropriate for him ?

Glucosamine and chondroitin will not prevent hip dysplasia. All those supplements do is promote joint health. It is recommended by most specialists to wait until the growth plates are closed before starting any supplements. This usually occurs within 10 months to one year of age.
