What formula should I use for 2-week-old puppies whose mom ran away?

Oh no, I'm sorry the mother hasn't come back! Homemade milk should only be used once in an emergency, and with a specific recipe. The puppies would be due for a feeding now (they should be fed every two hours), so run to the grocery store right away and get some puppy formula and a bottle. I recommend the KMR brand of puppy formula, it's excellent. I will also put a link below on how bottle feed puppies, which includes a recipe for homemade milk. Mom should have enough milk for all five puppies and you should not need to hand feed them formula. If you think they are not getting enough milk, have it verified by your vet. In that case you can supplement with puppy formula while they are still feeding from mom.

Great question! They should get 15-20ml per day for every 100g body weight when they are two weeks of age. Divide this by the number of feedings they get per day, which should be six to eight feedings a day, and that will give you how much they should get at each feeding. At three and four weeks, they should get 20ml per day for every 100g of body weight. This is just a rough estimate, however, and it's always better to underfeed than overfeed. Feed them until their belly is gently rounded but not beyond that. As long as they are steadily gaining weight, they will be fine. I hope this helps!

First, I would definitely recommend having the litter and mom examined by your vet - there are a number of health problems that could be making the dam reject the puppies. In general a one week old puppy should be eating about 22-30 ml of commercial puppy milk replacer (such as Esbilac) per day, and should be fed every 2-3 hours. They should be able to eat canned puppy food with added water or moistened puppy dry that is made into a gruel. To teach them put some food on your finger and get them to lick it off then gradually have your finger over a flat plate with the food in it so they learn to lap the food. Ideally, they should stay with the mother and litter until at least 8 weeks of age. This can prevent behavioral issues as they get older. They can start weaning to solid foods beginning at about 4 weeks of age. If they can stay with the mother and litter while weaning, this would be best for them in the long run.
