How do I get my puppy to drink water when he has a dry mouth?

You can try giving Max canned food (it has a high moisture content), or you can add water to his dry food to get him to drink. I'd also get him a dog water fountain. It will provide a continual source of fresh water, and may encourage him to drink. I hope this helps!

I also assume that the age you put on here is incorrect since it says that Louis is already 1 years old. A puppy is considered to be under 1 year. You can simply place water from the faucet into a regular dog bowl and offer it to him. He should drink readily and know what to do from there. If he doesn't seem interested at first, you can place a few drops on your finger and offer it to his lips for him to lick off. Do this a few times and he should begin to drink on his own. You can also give him canned puppy food in the beginning, just in case he doesn't drink an adequate amount of water initially, and this can help supplement his water intake. I hope this helps! I would try feeding her boiled chicken, hamburger, or turkey and rice. You can also try feeding her things like scrambled eggs, low-fat cottage cheese, or chicken baby food. The other thing I would try is buying some canned puppy food for her and adding warm water to it to make it into a soup for her. Anything you can add some water to will help to keep her somewhat hydrated. You can also offer her low-sodium chicken broth for some fluids.

Add water to her food, this will get fluid into her. You can also syringe water into her cheek pocket. If you cannot get her to drink or eat the moistened food she will need fluids given under the skin or into the vein by your veterinarian.

If the soft food is very wet he doesn't need to drink much water. You can put some water on your finger by the bowl to get him started or have a little bit of milk in the water so it tastes better.
