Puppy has diarrhea, not eating, and quivering after lake play?

Vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy are quite concerning in any dog, especially puppies because of the diseases they can get such as parvovirus. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment. They would be able to check for this disease as well as checking for other possibilities such as intestinal worms or other infections. The sooner these diseases are diagnosed the better the outcome tends to be. At the very least, Gus can be started on anti-nausea and anti-diarrhea medications and his hydration status can be checked. So sorry to hear that Bubu is not feeling well! Puppies are very prone to intestinal parasites, and depending on which vaccines they have received, viral infections such as parvovirus. Bubu may have also eaten something he should not have which has blocked his intestinal tract or was toxic. He should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible as he is likely to become dehydrated very quickly as he loses fluids from vomiting and having diarrhea and not eating/drinking. His veterinarian will likely need to run some tests including blood work, a fecal exam, and take x-rays to determine the cause and prescribe medication to treat the condition. I hope Bubu feels better soon!

I'm so sorry to hear that Diablo isn't feeling well. Without knowing Diablo's age, it's hard to know exactly how concerned to be, but vomiting, weakness, and not eating are very concerns signs. I would recommend taking Diablo to his veterinarian as soon as possible. If that's not possible, feed him a bland diet of boiled chicken (or other simple meat) and rice, with some extra water mixed in. Without treatment, he may keep getting more sick. I would be concerned about parvo virus, an intestinal blockage, or something else depending on his age.

It always concerns me when young puppies get lethargic. Puppies are more susceptible to the effects of dehydration and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) than adult dogs, so diarrhea is more serious for Wallace than it would be for an adult dog. If he's back to acting normally, eating, drinking, and doesn't have further diarrhea or vomiting, it's perfectly fine to continue monitoring him at home. However, if he remains lethargic, has more mucousy diarrhea, begins to vomit, or refuses to eat or drink normal amounts, then you should have him examined by his vet. Your vet will need to do a physical exam. Depending on their suspicions based on their exam findings, they may recommend some diagnostic testing or may opt to start him on some medications. Possible causes of this type of issue include stomach upset from a virus, intestinal parasites, among many other issues. If your vet finds that Wallace is dehydrated, they'll also be able to give him some fluids. I hope that he feels better soon!
